Motto of NCC: Duty and Unity

SJEC had received approval to start NCC Naval wing and Air wing with a capacity of 50 cadets each in both the unit from the academic year 2020-2021. The inspection of the college was carried out and excelled performance of SJEC lead to open a Naval subunit under 6 Kar Naval Unit NCC, Udupi and Air wing under 6 Kar Air Squadron NCC, Mangalore, in the month of October 2020. The Karnataka & Goa NCC Directorate has allotted NCC Naval sub-unit to SJEC under the expansion of NCC coverage in Border/Coastal area of 6 Kar Naval Unit NCC Udupi on a self-financed basis in February 2021. Cadets enrolled for NCC Naval wing & Air wing will undergo training in various naval, air and adventure activities for 3 years. In second year of training, cadets can write ‘B’ certificate and in the third year they can appear for ‘C’ certificate. Ms Pramila Rita D’Souza, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry is the Caretaker of the Naval unit since its inception and Mr Prashant Kurdekar, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering is the Caretaker of the Air wing from December 2021.
